Yoonsuh is a fifth-year Ph.D student in the Department of Statistics. He has worked with Drs. Lee and MacEachern for 3 years on regularization of case-specific parameters. He is writing his dissertation this year under advisors Drs. Lee and MacEachern on Regularization of Case-Specific Parameters for Robustness and Efficiency. He has applied this regularization method to the LASSO (Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator), sample quantile estimator, and quantile regression to achieve more robustness and efficiency. Another application is to classification problems, such as SVM (Support Vector Machine), which is also his research area.

In addition, Yoonsuh has experience in developing statistical models with various data sets such as economic, social, psychological and biological data as a statistical consultant. Some of the examples include repeated measure ANOVA, mixed effect models, multinomial logistic regression, and more.
